PSA Paragliding Club Coaching

COACHING WITHIN THE PSA

The PSA has a number of coaches who are available to coach newly qualified club pilots or to help in the progression of more seasoned pilots or assist those coming back to the sport after a long break.

The club coaching scheme is designed to offer a point of contact for those seeking additional help and advice with the onus being on the individual pilot to initiate contact with a coach.

Club coaches are active pilots who offer to coach in their spare time. Formal coaching sessions may also be offered by the club from time to time.

Coaches must have attended a coaching course run by the British Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association (BHPA) once every five years.

Coaches have different levels of experience and so may suggest a particular coach to cover certain sessions dependent on the needs of the coachee.

It is important to realise that coaches are not instructors (requiring other BHPA training) and can only provide guidance and suggestions tailored to suit the pilot following discussion and/or observation.
